SPS/StateFinder
One of the most fundamental, and also the most complex, aspects of an on line system is the method used to interpret and filter the incoming process information. This information is used by SPS/Statefinder to estimate an accurate, real-time pipeline state. Real-time simulation systems require reasonably good data to simulate accurately the physical behavior of a pipeline; the better the data, the closer the simulation is to reality. However, the approach to data handling used in SPS/Statefinder is to make the best possible use of the available data, and also to recognize and account for bad data when present. This allows StateFinder to achieve a level of accuracy that is far greater than other real-time modeling applications.
SPS/StateFinder Applications
Applications provided by the Statefinder real-time model include:
- Dynamic Capacity Management
- Scraper Tracking
- Composition/Batch Tracking
- Instrument Analysis
- Pressure monitoring/alarming
- Pseudo Instrumentation
Information from SPS/Statefinder can be accessed via the SPS Operational Interface, a fully web-enabled GUI, or retrieved for display in SCADA or commercial applications directly from GL’s StOPC server.
