Spadeadam Test Site is a unique facility carrying out research and technical service work for the oil and gas, process and energy industries, construction industries as well as government agencies.

Blast and High Explosive Testing

With qualified explosives engineers, GL Noble Denton has the facilities and expertise to carry out trials involving the use of high explosives for a wide variety of purposes.

Component and Equipment Testing

Testing of valves under dynamic conditions: From checking that relief valves lift at the set pressure and determining flowrates to testing of check valves under the extreme condition of catastrophic failure.

Corrosion and Materials Testing

GL Noble Denton has autoclave facilities and a large scale vessel suitable for intensive and long term testing for corrosion resistance of materials subjected to sour and corrosive environments, for example gaseous and liquid mixtures involving H2S or CO2.

Explosion Testing

Spadeadam Test Site has the facilities and experience for performing a variety of Gas Explosion Tests and are world leaders in the field of Gas Vapour Cloud Explosion Tests.

Fire Testing

Spadeadam has the facilities and expertise to perform a variety of Fire Tests; these include Interim Jet Fire Tests, Full Scale Jet Fire Testing, Liquid Pool Fire Testing and Water Deluge in Pool or Jet Fires.

Gas Dispersion and Accumulation Studies

Spadeadam has extensive facilities enabling the controlled release of pressurised gas (or volatile liquids, such as LNG) into the atmosphere or into enclosures for studies to help specify preventitive measures or hazard ranges.

PE Pipe Testing

Spadeadam Test Site has extensive facilities to provide quality assurance and certification to manufacturers and operators of PE pipelines, backed by over 30 years experience in the PE business.
